About me

Carmen Cespedes de Fajth studied painting at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts in Havana as well as at the Hernando Siles School of Fine Arts in La Paz. She participated in several auctions and joint expositions with other artists and held three solo paintings expositions in Bolivia and two in the US. She also prepared illustrations for books, taught children art and acted as the director of a gallery of fine arts in La Paz. To support her artistic career Carmen also worked as administrative assistant for the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Bolivian Federal Reserve, and the Treasury. Her exhibitions stirred interest among leading intellectuals in her country and were substantially covered by the Bolivian press. Carmen was recently included in a book on contemporary painters in Bolivia. Carmen has grown up living in five countries; she was living four years and a half in New York and in Hungary, since 2011 she lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
